Summer 2022
Wow, what a Summer 2022 has been! It has taken for me to be ill in bed to have enough time too actually gather myself to write another blog post. The lurgy has finally got me but luckily the year starts to calm down a bit now as Autumn properly sets in. All my Indy Bloom weddings are done for the year and I just have some lovely weddings to freelance on for some amazing Florists here in Bristol.
This was the first year of having a studio space to work in and what a difference it makes having a dedicated work space, especially with children living at home!
My priority for all my weddings is to use British flowers where at all possible over and above imported flowers, this helps to reduce the carbon footprint of my company but also support small local growers in and around Bristol. Its was such a pleasure seeing all the amazing flowers that had been so lovingly grown going in to all my arrangements for my couples wedding days. I know from dabbling in growing flowers myself how much hard work goes in to it and I was in awe of the quality of all the blooms. A couple of my favourite and most local growers are Roz and Debs from The Wild Zinna and Alex from Purple Patch right on my doorstep in St. Werburghs, I am very lucky to have access to such gorgeous flowers all grown without the air miles!
My favourite venue of the Summer has to be The Mount Without, I went to the primary school there so it was amazing to be back there nearly 30 years later flowering away. It is a truly unique and amazing venue!
